WALTHAM, MA (August 1, 2006) GameLogic, Inc., a provider of new-media strategies and solutions to the gaming industry, today announced that The Mississippi Gaming Commission (MGC) has voted the final approval needed for implementation of its Virtual Play platform. In February, the Company had received conceptual approval from the MGC for its first Virtual Play game, PlayAway.
GameLogic innovates Virtual Play gaming platforms, which are designed to allow casinos to offer their patrons a range of online activities and entertainments, including Fun Play Games (where money is neither wagered nor won); Money Play Games (where patrons purchase and redeem tickets at a licensed gaming venue but play on the Internet); and Bonus Play Games (Internet and new-media leveraging promotional and credit-based casino bonus systems).
Virtual Play is also approved in Nevada, where several casinos in the northern part of the state are running initial pilot test programs, as well as in New Jersey, and is under review in several other states.
"Every month at least 30 million American adults play games on the Internet nearly all of which are people in the casino-player demographic playing standard casino games and other games of chance," said GameLogic Chairman and CEO Steven Kane. "Our Virtual Play platforms enable casino operators to compete for their own customers' gaming entertainment time and interest when those customers are outside the casino at home or anywhere they are on the Internet or cell phones by offering exciting, high-quality but always regulatory-compliant Internet and new-media gaming entertainment. We welcome Mississippi to the growing number of jurisdictions that have approved Virtual Play and we are excited about the new-media opportunities for Mississippi casinos."
